Healthy Chocolate Banana Shake

All over Pinterest I have seen recipes for a copy cat healthy “Wendy’s Frosty”. I was pretty stoked about this because Frosty’s are freakin’ awesome but I would weigh 300 pounds if I ate them all the time. I made a few different recipes, combined a few recipes, and tweaked them a bit. I’m here to report none of them tasted anything like a Wendy’s Frosty. They are straight up lying to you! However, I have good news…I made a pretty tasty chocolate banana shake at the end of the whole thing. 🙂 It’s creamy, chocolatey, and has a great banana flavor mixed in….so delicious and definitely healthier than a Frosty!

Cooking A-Z: X is for Xocolatl

Blank…blank…blank…this is what was going on in my mind for days trying to figure out what to make for my letter “x”. Even though “X-tra Cheesy Macaroni and Cheese” did sound AMAZING, I felt that was a bit of a cop-out. Even better would have been “X-tra Peanut Butter Peanut Butter Cookies” but that’s a mouth full and again a bit of a cop-out. I might make those later because who cares when that much peanut butter is involved!

There is really nothing great to choose from so I was super excited when I came across another blogger who cooked her way through the alphabet also. Xocolatl translates to bitter water  and is a traditional Aztec drink but is pretty much hot chocolate. I know this is not technically a food like my other recipes but I’m all out of options and we can all get past the small technicality. 🙂

This drink has a great classic hot chocolate flavor that will take you back to childhood but also has a hint of spice.It’s worth trying if you are a chocolate fan. Hope you enjoy!

Green Smoothie

photo 1It’s time to start eating healthy again, sort of :). I will always have a major sweet tooth but the holidays are coming to an end and I like to start early getting ready for the summer. I started following Tone It Up a little while ago and I love their fitness videos and recipes. I got this green smoothie recipe when I joined their email list.  I love this smoothie because it doesn’t taste “green” or anything like it looks :). It actually tastes more like orange juice. I drink it after a work out and it’s SOO yummy! It’s great for when you’re not feeling good too because it’s full of vitamin C. Let me know what you think! Enjoy!
