Bloody Mummy Cupcakes

mummy (2)

I just love all of the Halloween baking creations that fellow bloggers and people on Pinterest create. I love seeing how creative people are and what unique recipes or ideas they are coming up with next 🙂

No matter how bad my day is sometimes, it always gets better when I come home where I’m able to bake, cook, create, and do nothing but be blissfully unaware of my surroundings and concentrate on what I love to do. I hope you all get the same happiness from the reasons you blog 🙂

Back to cupcakes… I was inspired today by all of the great Halloween cupcakes. I wanted to make a slightly spooky cupcake, with blood of course. Last year I made “Knife Stabbed Cupcakes” and they were awesome! (see picture below). I think these bloody mummy cupcakes are really fun. I will be on the lookout for an over the top Halloween cupcake next year!

It’s officially that time…..Happy Halloween! Be safe and enjoy all your delicious treats!

Skeleton Halloween Decoration

photo(1)

It is a tradition in my family to decorate our house with scary, bloody, ghostly decorations! We do not do “cute” Halloween decorations 🙂 My front porch has a whole display of Halloween terror but I thought it might be best to only post my skeleton escaping from the ground 🙂 There are some trick-or-treaters that will not approach my front porch and I know that I have accomplished the point of Halloween! (just kidding…)

Have a safe and Happy Halloween!

Two Layer Pumpkin Cheesecake

photo 1It’s fall time! And that means a lot of pumpkin recipes. My kitchen is always stocked with extra cans of pumpkin puree in case I get the urge to bake something with lots of pumpkin goodness! I have never made a pumpkin cheesecake before and was a little nervous but it turned out better than I expected and was completely delicious 🙂 My husband I and have been snacking on it for a few days and it’s almost gone! I guess I will be baking a new pumpkin dessert in a few days 🙂 Enjoy the cheesecake!

2 Ingredient Pumpkin Muffins

Pumpkin Muffins Ingredient

It’s fall and that means it’s time to put pumpkin in everything! I have a few recipes for pumpkin muffins and these are a lighter, lower calorie option. I found this recipe on Pinterest (of course) a few years ago and they have been a fall favorite ever since. All you need is one can of pumpkin puree and one box of yellow cake mix. I still love my original pumpkin muffins because they are a little more dense but these muffins are amazing as well. I was skeptical at first but people had nothing but awesome things to say so I gave it a shot….they were gone in 2 days! If you are a pumpkin fan or would like to be, give these a chance and enjoy 🙂 Continue reading

DIY Stone Trivet

Stone Trivet

I came across a picture of a stone trivet on Pinterest and really loved the unique look. It had a felt bottom and was made with large stones. I found a thick cork trivet at Walmart that I thought would be more sturdy and it worked perfect. I purchased large stones at Hobby Lobby but they didn’t lay the way I wanted and too much cork showed through. So, I purchased the small stones and this is the result 🙂 It took a little longer than I thought but I really like how it turned out. 🙂 I spent a couple of hours on Sunday arranging the stones and gluing them in place. It was actually very relaxing! However, it was not relaxing when I dropped one of the 3 pound bags of stones on my foot and they scattered ALL over the aisle…not.very.fun. So the lesson is: get a basket for the multiple bags of stones that weigh 3 pounds and come in a thin, breakable mesh lining 🙂 Happy Crafting!
