Love french toast? Add some Nutella and make it a triple stack…yum! Best french toast! I love Nutella and I love breakfast food so this is a perfect combination for me. The chocolate and strawberries made the french toast even better than the original. I cut this into a heart shaped french toast, it’s a little past Valentine’s Day but never too late for chocolate french toast 🙂 It’s so hard to keep a full jar of Nutella in this house. Enjoy!
1 cup sliced strawberries
6 slices of bread (any bread you like)
1/2 cup Nutella
1 large egg
1/2 cup milk
2 tablespoons melted butter
1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon salt
butter (for the pan)
Powdered sugar for serving
1. Get 3 pieces for each sandwich: Spread desired amount of Nutella over 2 slices of bread and lightly on each side of 1 piece. Stack the bread and place the piece covered with Nutella on both sides in the middle. Keep all Nutella spread pieces facing in.
2. Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
3. In a shallow dish, whisk together the egg and milk. Whisk in the melted butter, cinnamon and salt. Add 1 tablespoon of butter to the heated skillet and swirl to coat.
4.. Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, soaking for 10-12 seconds per side. Add the sandwiches to the skillet, careful not to crowd the skillet. Cook for approx. 2 minutes on each side or until light golden brown.
5. Transfer to a plate, dust with the desired amount of powdered sugar and top strawberries. Serve immediately!
