Pepperoni Calzones


I love delivery calzones, they are cheesy, full of flavor and all sorts of bad for you! I thought I would make my own and try to make it a tad healthier for me. These calzones are very quick and simple to make and are packed full of flavor! This is one of my husband’s favorite dinners and it’s a huge plus that it only takes 25 minutes to cook. I make my calzones with pepperoni but you can use any cooked meat or use veggies only. They are so easy to substitute any ingredient and really make it your own. They are personal size so you don’t have to worry about sharing with anyone else! Enjoy 🙂



  • Two pre-made packages of pizza dough
  • 1/2 cup pizza sauce
  • 3/4 cup mozzarella cheese
  • veggies of your choice
  • meat of your choice
  • olive oil


1.Preheat oven to 450°F
2.Prepare the calzones on a wood cutting board, parchment paper, or nonstick cooking sheet. All ingredients will be split in half between the two calzones.
3.Cut circles from the pizza dough.
*Keep extra dough for later*
4.Spread 3 tbsp of pizza sauce on each pizza dough circle. Layer the pepperoni (or chicken), cheese, and veggies on top of the pizza sauce. Leave a border around the edges.
5.Fold the dough over the filling and press edges together and make a small lip, seal so filling doesn’t come out.
6.Take extra dough and roll into long rope. Press onto edges to make an extra seal. Slice steam vents on top
7.Brush with oil or butter if desired.
8.Bake on a nonstick cookie sheet for 15 minutes, rotate pan and bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden brown
